For students in our department who wish to apply to a dual-major program, here is the list of departments accepting applications and the weighted GPA requirements:
1 - Science Education
2 - Elementary Mathematics Education
To be eligible to apply for a double major (only for the semester in which the application is submitted):
a) You must have earned a grade of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in all courses listed in the curriculum of your own bachelor’s program,
b) For the application, the cumulative GPA in the current program must be at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale); to apply for a double major between programs within the Faculty of Education, the cumulative GPA in the current program must be at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale),
c) The student must be in the top 20% of their class in the program they are enrolled in.
d) Students whose Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA) in their current undergraduate program is at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) but who are not in the top 20% of their class in terms of academic ranking may also apply for a double major if the central placement score they received in the year they were admitted to their current program is equal to or higher than the minimum admission score for the program they are applying to in that same year.
